Celebrate Park and Recreation Month in Arvada this July by participating in the Park and Recreation Month Photo contest! 

We invite you to share your photos of your favorite parks, trails and open space areas in Arvada. With more than 100 park sites and 150 miles of trails, there's plenty of inspiration! 

How to participate

• Submit your Park and Recreation Month photos by emailing them to engage@arvada.org
• Send no more than 3 photos
• When submitting your photo(s), include your name and the location of where the photo was taken
• Please do not submit photos with watermarks, logos, dates or any other text on them 
• Photos do not have to be taken this month (July 2025)
• Submit your photos between Tuesday, July 1 and Sunday, July 20

How the contest works

• Once the submission period closes on midnight, Sunday July 20, City staff will select 5 to 10 finalists 
• The community will then have the opportunity to vote on the winning photos from Wednesday, July 23 to Tuesday, July 29
• The winning photo will be announced on Thursday, July 31
• Selected photos will be featured on the City's social media platforms and other public communication channels
• Prizes will be given to all finalists; prizes include:
  • Punch pass to Apex Park and Recreation District
  • Olde Town gift card
  • 18-hole round of golf for two people at Lake Arbor Golf Course
  • City of Arvada swag bags

Photo contest guidelines

Participants in the contest agree to the following release: 

By submitting a photo to Arvada for the Park and Recreation Month Photo Contest, you grant the City of Arvada the right to use the submitted image in conjunction with your name for any informational presentation, print collateral and promotions, social media and websites, and informational/educational media without any form of compensation or royalties. You further guarantee you have adequate rights in the photo to grant to the City of Arvada and that the photo has not been improperly obtained.
