Turf Conversion Pilot Program
Turf Conversion Pilot Program
In the spring of 2024, the City of Arvada Parks Department launched a turf conversion pilot program at two locations in the city: Tomlinson Park and Club Crest North Park. Combined, the two conversion areas are approximately 2.5 acres. The turf conversion project is part of the City’s commitment to water conservation and sustainability.
Once fully established, converting these areas from bluegrass to native grass will save more than 830,000 gallons of water and 37 hours of mowing per year. Visit the project webpage on ArvadaCO.gov to learn more.
As part of the pilot project, we're asking community members who use these parks to let us know what they think about converting these areas to native grass.
