Danny Kendrick Park East Playground Renovation

Danny Kendrick Park East playground is going to be renovated 
Danny Kendrick Park East(External link) (11960 W 70th Way, Arvada, CO 80004) is located in central Arvada. The existing playground at the park is going to be relocated so that the City of Arvada can install a new sanitary sewer line along the Ralston Creek corridor. There are existing utilities located under the current playground that will need to be replaced, and the City is relocating the playground so that there won't be any conflicts with the utilities in the future. 

New playground construction will begin in the Spring-Summer of 2024 to the northwest of the current playground location to prevent any conflicts with the underground utilities. Once construction on the sewer line project begins in the fall 2024, the section of the Ralston Creek Trail that goes along Danny Kendrick Park East will be detoured south along W. 70th Ave. and the current playground will be closed. Construction on the new playground will begin once construction on the sewer line is complete.

In August 2023, the City's Parks and Urban Design team invited community members to take a survey and tell the team what playground theme and equipment they would prefer for the new playground. The team is currently reviewing the survey results. When the review is complete, the team will hire a consultant to create design options for the new playground that are informed by the community's feedback. The Parks and Urban Design Team will then decide on the final design for Danny Kendrick Park East playground and share the final playground design with the community later in 2023.

Located at 11960 W 70th Way, Arvada, CO 80004(External link), Danny Kendrick Park East playground will need to be rebuilt in 2024 due to a new sanitary sewer installation.
