Gold Strike Park

About the Gold Strike Park project

The City of Arvada has launched a park design effort to fulfill Gold Strike Park’s full potential as the next great park for Arvada. Please visit the project webpage on the City’s website(External link) for more information, including a project overview and the historical significance of Gold Strike Park.

The project team is conducting several community engagement opportunities throughout 2023 to further inform the development of a design for the park. The 2023 community engagement efforts will conclude with a final schematic design that will be shared with the public later this year. After that, the final design will be used to develop the first phase of construction documents in anticipation of construction the following year.

What we heard from the community from Gold Strike Park Survey #1

In the spring and summer of 2023, we surveyed the community to find out how they currently use Gold Strike Park and how they would like to experience the park in the future. The feedback received from the first survey was incorporated into the two design concepts that the community can now provide feedback on in Survey #2.

Read the full Gold Strike Park Survey #1 summary report(External link) to learn about the feedback the team received and what elements were incorporated into the design concepts.

In the summer of 2023, community members were invited to take Gold Strike Park Survey #2 and tell us which design concept they would prefer. This survey closed on September 11, 2023.

The Parks and Urban Design team asked community members to check out two park design concepts, Concept A: Wandering Creek(External link) and Concept B: Adventure Destination(External link), and let the team know which design concept they would prefer, why they preferred that design, and what specific site amenities would motivate them to visit the park weekly. The team is currently reviewing the survey results. This community feedback will inform the final park designs, which will be shared with the community in late 2023.
